Dear Colleagues,

We are all watching with breaking hearts the tragedy unfolding in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. Many people have sought and found many ways to contribute money and materials to help, and for this we are thankful.

Music teachers associated with MTNA in the Tampa Bay area have the opportunity to assist New Orleans and Gulf Coast music teachers in relocating and restarting their lives. We've found room in our hearts and homes to provide rent-free housing to displaced musicians for the remainder of this teaching year.

In addition, various local music stores with teaching facilities (private studio space and piano labs) are willing to make teaching space available rent free until June 2006 for relocating teachers.

Other MTA Districts in Florida and out of state have been invited to join this project, and already housing and studio space has been offered in other locales outside of Tampa Bay.

If you are in need of a new place to start over, we want to help you in every way we can. If you know someone in need please pass this contact information along.

Sincerely,

Duncan J. MacMillan, DMA
